             Computer Industry Veteran to Lead Worldwide 
                   Product and Communication Efforts
  
      MicroTouch Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MTSI) announced today that
  Janet Muto has joined the company as vice president, marketing.
  Muto brings more than 19 years of high tech sales and marketing
  experience to MicroTouch and is responsible for all worldwide
  marketing functions.  Muto's extensive experience will broaden and
  strengthen MicroTouch's corporate marketing capabilities by
  emphasizing product strategy and positioning, vertical market
  solutions, strategic relationships, and worldwide communications.

      Muto joins MicroTouch from Hewlett Packard's Chelmsford, Mass.
  office where she held several managerial positions over an 8-year
  period.  Muto most recently served as worldwide marketing director
  of their $2 billion workstation division.  Other roles at Hewlett
  Packard include worldwide sales and support manager, workstations
  systems division; commercial market development manager, entry
  systems division; workstation systems group; and district sales
  manager.  
  
      Prior to Hewlett Packard, Muto held sales and marketing
  positions at Apollo Computer and Prime Computer.  Muto earned an
  MBA from Babson College and a BA in Political Science from Trinity
  College.  She resides in Wayland, Mass.
