CTX Announces New 14.5-Inch LCD Display

New PanoView 745 Requires No Drivers or Cards;

Flexible Design Meets VESA Standard

NEW YORK, June 17 /PRNewswire/ - CTX Opto, Inc., LCD products division of CTX International, today introduced the PanoView 745 14.5-inch LCD Flat Panel Monitor. The space-saving PanoView 745 is an active matrix TFT multisync display that meets VESA, PC and Mac standards, requires no special card or driver, and connects via a standard VGA port. It delivers 1024x768 (XGA) resolution and has two CCFT backlights to create bright (200 nit), clear images for all OEM, financial display, medical, embedded or industrial applications. The PanoView 745 draws just 30 watts and features DPMS PowerSave mode to conserve energy. The PanoView 745 is sold through major distributors and VARs at a suggested retail price is $2,795.

"PanoView displays are chosen by designers and system integrators who must solve space constraint issues, and who require clear, stable images, product availability in quantity and very competitive pricing," said Mark Levitt, Marketing Manager, CTX Opto. "Because of these advantages, the PanoView 745 is being chosen for applications in finance and commerce display, medical equipment, kiosks, ATMs, transportation, military and aerospace."

The PanoView 745 functions just as a conventional CRT does. Its direct analog, Plug&Play RGB input requires no special card or drivers. It can be operated after installation of new or upgraded operating systems or software applications without any controller card or driver changes. Complete on- screen display (OSD) menus guide the user and control the 16.7 million-color image.

The PanoView 745 measures 15.2-(h) x 15-(w) x 10.1-(d) inches and weighs just 11 lbs. It has two 1-watt internal speakers and a 3-watt amplifier for full multimedia audio use. Its ergonomic base features dual-tilt and swivel adjustment which give the viewer complete positioning control. This appeals particularly to those who use the PanoView 745 as a desktop display alternative to the CRT.

PanoView Line The PanoView line of LCD flat panel displays is superior for many reasons in addition to space-saving design. All PanoView FPDs carry state-of-the-art, active matrix TFT LCD panels. Since they do not employ cathode ray tubes (CRTs), images are inherently flicker-free, emissions are extremely low and power consumption is one-fifth that of comparable CRTs.

The CTX PanoView family of LCD flat panel displays carries a variety of units designed to meet specific display requirements for corporate, financial, medical, industrial and OEM use. There are many different screen sizes, as well as options such as touch screen, remote, or on-screen controls.

CTX Opto was the first company to deliver LCD monitors in true quantity to the display market. Established in 1991, CTX Opto, Inc. is a subsidiary of the CTX group of global electronics manufacturers. CTX develops advanced LCD applications for a wide range of projection and flat panel display applications. Its products, like the EzPro Personal Projectors and PanoView LCD Monitors, combine space-saving design, ultraportability, image brightness and clarity and ease-of-use.
