Audi Introduces New Auto Show Kiosks

(PR Newswire; 11/07/97)

MIAMI, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ At the debut of its new Audi A6 at the South Florida International Auto Show in Miami, Audi of America, Inc. showed a new internet-based kiosk technology designed specifically to allow visitors to the Audi exhibit to configure and price any Audi model. Using innovative and pioneering technologies, including dynamic HTML, Java, and JavaScript, Audi developed these kiosks for its 1997/1998 Auto Show circuit.

The kiosks allow users to make selections through a touch screen display including exterior color, interior "Atmospheres" (an Audi-exclusive for North America), and available options. At the end of the interactive experience the individual is given an opportunity to print a page outlining the car that they have configured with all standard features and all selected options. MSRP is given for each option and totaled for the car. The system even tracks the final selections made by individuals to give Audi a cross-sectional representation of their most popular options for exterior colors, interiors and desired optional equipment.

Audi worked with Network Publishing Inc., of Provo, Utah, to develop the software and the program itself. Look for these kiosks to be featured at the Miami, Detroit, Chicago and New York Auto Shows.
