THE INTERNET IS OUT ON THE STREETS

Holland has decided to give everyone the chance to surf. On the streets of Amsterdam
internet kiosks have just ended a one year trial - and they've turned out to be very
popular. The kiosks work just like a payphone. You put a card in the slot and you're on
the net. At any time of day and in any weather - the keyboard is waterproof - you can
surf the net, or send and pick up emails. It costs about eight pence for one and a half
minutes and for a small, extra fee, you can print everything out. The kiosks have gone
down so well, that they are going to be installed throughout Holland this summer. What's
more, the Americans want to snap up the new technology for the US, one New York company
is interested in buying about a thousand for the Big Apple.
