Tourists Hop, Skip, and Jump Around the Island
SEAL BEACH, Calif., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Ecotek, Seal Beach,
California in a joint venture with ATI, Inc deployed two tourism information
kiosks on the Caribbean Island of St. Maarten. These fun and colorful kiosks
were installed in two resorts on the island, The Flamingo and The Royal Palm.
The kiosks are a part of the One Touch Kiosk Network. The project when
complete, will consist of more than 100 tourism information kiosks installed
in high profile resorts throughout the Caribbean Islands.
The One Touch kiosks provide a wealth of information for tourists visiting
the area. ``The kiosks are a unique way for visitors to find out what is going
on around the island'', said Larry Mahar, co-president of Ecotek. ``People can
find out about the island and the wide variety of shopping, dining and
nightlife the island has to offer with just the touch of their finger''.
The One Touch kiosk network is designed to be a colorful and fun way help
tourists decide where to eat, what to do and how to get around the island.
They contain links to Dining, Shopping, Services, Activities, Casinos and
Nightlife, Resort Info, Timeshares and Island Information. Each link is
divided into several user-friendly categories.
Ecotek is a leader in the field of information kiosks for traveler
information, tourism, community affairs and other markets. Ecotek has
partnered with a New Jersey based company, Around the Island (ATI) to create
the One Touch Kiosk Network. The idea was developed after Bruce Ackerman,
co-founder of ATI, spent time at his parent's timeshare on St. Maarten and was
