ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 1998--MindSpring Enterprises,
Inc. (NASDAQ:MSPG - news) today announced the national debut of the
``MindSpring Coast to Coast Connection Tour,'' a five-month, multi-city
mobile tour to introduce its award-winning Internet service directly
to consumers. The centerpiece of the Tour will be the MindSpring World
Wide Web Wagon, with graphics designed by Peter Max. During the tour,
MindSpring will raise community awareness and financial support for
the technology initiative of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

experience, personal instruction from friendly experts, connections
for Boys & Girls Clubs, and new ways to keep people connected.''
Bringing the Internet to Communities
The tour will teach visitors how to connect with people, places,
and news around the world using the power of the Internet. Visitors
can send virtual postcards to friends and family, which will
automatically register them to win two roundtrip business class
tickets to Latin America, Central America or Europe from Delta Air

Internet service.
``We are on the road to show Americans how they can stay connected
to people and places in exciting new ways,'' said Bob McNamara, Chief
Web Wagoneer. ``MindSpring is known for its reliable and friendly
service, and we're spreading the word by greeting people in their
hometowns. It's what we call connecting with our customers, and it's
what we do best.''
MindSpring's corporate mission includes being a force for good in
its communities and the tour will help connect Boys & Girls Clubs of
America to the Internet by making a donation for every new customer
who signs up through the World Wide Web Wagon. MindSpring will hold
events at Boys & Girls Clubs where kids, volunteers, and parents can
learn about the Internet and enter drawings to win free Internet
service for their local clubs.
``Access to the vast resources available on the Internet will
enable our Club members to remain competitive in tomorrow's
workplace,'' said Kurt Aschermann, B&GCA senior vice president. ``We are
excited to partner with MindSpring to build support for our Clubs
nationwide and generate funds for our national technology initiative.''

About Peter Max
Peter Max is one of America's most famous contemporary artists.
His vibrant, expressionistic paintings are on exhibit in hundreds of
museums and galleries worldwide. Max has been designated as official
artist for four Super Bowls, five Grammy Award shows, The U.S. Open,
The World Cup soccer games, the 50th Anniversary of the United
Nations, and other events too numerous to mention.
Peter Max became an American pop hero in the late 1960s when his
Cosmic Surrealist art captured the imagination of an entire
generation; he had become to the art world what the Beatles were to
music. Having painted for five U.S. presidents and his yearly
tradition of painting the Statue of Liberty, Max has earned the
reputation as ``America's painter laureate.''
Max's fascination with digital technology and the world of the
Internet is now inspiring him to become the cyber artist of the new
millennium.
