Radiant Systems, Inc. Announces the Release of Regional Multi-Site Interactive Voice Response (RIVR)

New Interactive consumer product for Entertainment Industry

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 1998-- Radiant Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:RADS - news), a leading provider of integrated technology solutions to retailers worldwide, announces the release of its multi-site Regional Interactive Voice Response (RIVR) system for the entertainment industry. The new RIVR system builds upon the proven performance of more than 35 IVR systems installed during the past year.

The RIVR systems enable patrons of cinemas, amusement parks, and other entertainment facilities to call to obtain performance times, facility information, directions, and purchase tickets for multiple facilities connected to a single network. The RIVR system is the first in a new multi-site product suite that will include multi-site touch screen ticketing kiosks, remote stand-alone ticketing kiosks, and Internet ticketing systems. Each of the multi-site products operates on a redundant Wide Area Network (WAN) built to facilitate information provision, credit card transactions for multiple locations, and quick-response support for any network site.

The RIVR systems enable entertainment chains to provide their patrons with a convenient way to purchase tickets and obtain accurate information presented in a consistent and professional voice for all sites on the network. This convenience and consistency may be used as an effective tool for an entertainment company to differentiate itself from its competitors. With the application of a service charge to tickets sold through an IVR and by giving patrons the option of retrieving these tickets at a kiosk rather than at a staffed ticket office, entertainment companies may also use a RIVR system to create new sources of income and reduce labor expenses.
