Entertainment Consumers
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Tim Keyes, President of AIM
Technologies, Inc. will present at The Southwest Venture Capital Conference in
Dallas on Tuesday, October 20. This opportunity allows Mr. Keyes a forum to
present AIM to the venture capital community and describe its plans for
aggressive expansion. After the presentation, the AIM management team will be
hosting interested investors in Suite #502 of the Westin Galleria.
AIM Technologies, Inc. (512-305-0155, www.AIMTech.net) was founded in
December 1996 to collect consumer demographic information from the sports and
entertainment industries and profit from its use. AIM collects this
information directly from the attendees of sports and entertainment events
(e.g. sports fans and movie theater patrons) using an interactive customer
loyalty program marketed under the name FanCard(TM).
FanCard is similar to a frequent flier program in that it rewards frequent
purchasing behavior while building a database of consumers. The FanCard
program consists of software developed by AIM that is deployed on an
interactive kiosk network located in participating venues. Event attendees
sign up for a membership card by filling out an enrollment form that provides
over 80 fields of demographic information. Once enrolled, members swipe their
card at a kiosk during each visit to the venue and collect points toward
rewards such as free tickets and autographed merchandise.
AIM licenses the FanCard software to event owners (e.g. professional
athletic teams and movie theater chains) while retaining the rights to
information gathered on program membership. AIM's revenues are generated
through the sale of in-depth market research and providing the eyeballs of
FanCard members to third party organizations via AIM's kiosks and its web
site. At each kiosk session, the FanCard software allows AIM to sell the
opportunity to conduct market research, display targeted interactive
advertising, and print product coupons based on the demographic information of
each member. Customers of these opportunities have included: Anheuser-Busch,
Bank of America and McDonald's.
The FanCard program has been deployed for the Oakland A's and the AA-
affiliate of the New York Yankees, providing nearly 50,000 members in the
first year. AIM also has agreements with the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA and
the Austin Ice Bats of minor league hockey for their 1998-1999 seasons.
