COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1999--ETM Entertainment Network Inc.® has reached an agreement with Safeway Inc. to install an initial 28 ETM Ticket Machines in Bay Area Safeway stores, according to ETM President Peter Schniedermeier. ETM's first retail venture in Northern California means that Safeway shoppers will be able to purchase bread, toothpaste and tickets to a wide variety of venues beginning with The San Francisco Film Festival, and The Red and White Fleet Boat Tours during one trip to the store.

``As ETM continues its expansion across the U.S., with more than 300 ETM machines in nine states, we recognized the importance of grabbing a share of the Northern California marketplace,'' said Schniedermeier who co-founded ETM in 1994. ETM is expanding into Safeway store locations as an extension of their previous relationship with Vons and Vons Pavilions stores in Southern California and Safeway stores in Phoenix.

``Consumers have come to understand that their ticket buying is a cinch with ETM machines. There's access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ticket buyers can pinpoint specific seating and they can walk away from an ETM kiosk with tickets in-hand.''

Among the 300 ETM ticket machines in the United States, ETM boasts 136 in Safeway stores in Arizona and in Vons and Pavilion stores throughout California and Nevada. Safeway acquired Vons Companies Inc. in April 1997, with Vons becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Safeway, and based on sales, part of the second largest food and drug retailer in North America. Safeway operates 1,381 stores in the United States and Canada
