ETM and ICON Create New Venture That Will Revolutionize How Consumers Buy Movie Tickets

LAS VEGAS, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- ETM Entertainment Network(R), a leader in live entertainment ticketing, and ICON Software, a leading software and retail systems supplier to the film exhibition industry, announced today that ETM and ICON will set a new standard for ticket buying in the movie industry. Together they will form the first entity to offer both live entertainment and movie ticketing to consumers over the Internet and other automated channels of distribution.

ETM and ICON will enable consumers to purchase movie tickets through ETM's comprehensive distribution network including an e-commerce website, etm.com, ETM Ticket Machines (kiosks), an interactive voice response (IVR) phone system and live operator call center. Tickets will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will be accessible at various retail locations around the U.S. including grocery stores and shopping malls.

The companies will now offer consumers access to more than 27,000 movie screens in close to 5,000 movie theaters in the U.S. Benefits to moviegoers include the ability to access movie information and previews on-demand, enjoy shorter box office lines and a faster turnaround time for purchasing tickets.

Participating exhibitors will benefit from increased ticket sales, an enhanced geographic reach for their box office, additional marketing opportunities and a competitive advantage.

ETM and ICON also will bring movie ticketing into the new world of e-commerce, with consumers being able to select a theater and movie and purchase tickets over the Internet through ETM's website, and then retrieving their tickets at any ETM Ticket Machine.
