PALO ALTO, CALIF. (March 18) BUSINESS WIRE -March 18, 1999--ZF MicroSystems today launched its 486 netDisplay, a 100MHz ready-to-run, flat-panel computer aimed at OEMs, VARs and systems integrators. The latest addition to ZF's popular netDisplay(TM) line is a self-contained, networkable PC, complete with color LCD and optional touch-screen.

At just 2.2 inches deep and weighing only 2 pounds, the computer is ideal for a wide range of applications such as information kiosks, video gaming, and industrial control. The netDisplay is shipped with pre-loaded DOS and BIOS, PC-compatible I/O, LCD flat-panel, display adapter and ZF's proprietary Fail-Safe(TM) Boot ROM. With standard 10Base-T Ethernet support, the netDisplay can act as a client in most networks.

"The netDisplay is easily deployed, and dramatically reduces development time for vertical market products," said David Feldman, president of ZF MicroSystems. "Whether the application requires PC functionality in an information kiosk or a point-of-sale device, the 486/100MHz netDisplay offers OEM designers full PC performance in a form factor that could easily be built into a countertop or mounted on a wall," said Feldman.

Volume pricing starts at less than $900US. The netDisplay features an 8.2-inch passive matrix or 12.1-inch active matrix color LCD and is available with or without touch-screen.

In keeping with ZF MicroSystem's strict adherence to industry standard PC architecture, the netDisplay is controlled by ZF's OEMmodule(TM) Single Component Computer (SCC). The OEMmodule offers the functionality of a desktop PC in a credit card-sized, low-power, easily integrated package.

The netDisplay is aimed at a number of vertical markets, including information kiosks, retail point-of-sale, banking, industrial control, medical instrumentation and transportation management.
