Nikkei English News : TOKYO (Nikkei)--Fujitsu Ltd. (6702) has released a compact automatic teller machine designed for convenience stores.
Measuring 45 x 45cm at its base, the machine takes up only one-third the floor space of conventional ATMs, making it suitable for tight spaces. Special attachments allow the ATM to accept coins and process utility payments.
Fujitsu will market the compact unit to financial institutions that are trying to get more convenience stores to install ATMs. The company has priced the base model at 3.8 million yen and is targeting sales of 20,000 units over the next three years.
