Power Kiosks, Inc. Partners with KRI and Playtime to Expand the Placement of Kiosks to North American Shopping Malls

Markham, Ontario (Business Wire) December 20, 2000 - Power Kiosks Inc. (OTCBB: PWKK), a developer and marketer of interactive, networkable entertainment kiosks, today announced that the company has concluded an agreement with KRI Entertainment Ltd. and Playtime Entertainment Inc. for a three-phase rollout of Power Photo Kiosks in leading North American shopping malls.

Under terms of the agreement, Power Kiosks will immediately deploy and service a pilot network of five to 10 kiosks in high-traffic shopping malls for a period of three months. The purpose of the pilot project is to prove the functionality and financial viability of kiosks as a photo-imaging system within shopping mall environments, as well as an alternative advertising and marketing medium. Playtime and KRI, both leaders in placing entertainment products in North American malls, have received exclusivity for the placement of Photo Kiosks within common spaces of their respective malls for the duration of the pilot program. Upon successfully concluding Phase I, the Company intends to implement Phases Two and Three, which will see a rollout of 200 kiosks in select malls across North America and finally to deploy an additional 1,500 to 2,000 kiosks in malls where the marketing studies warrant.

"We are very confident of success in this test, especially after the very positive results we obtained in a Canadian beta test with a major retailer and a toy manufacturer," said Terry Cooke, President and CEO of Power Kiosks Inc. "Our partners in this endeavor have strong connections to shopping mall management companies. KRI is an industry leader in mall recreation and entertainment in Canada, and Playtime is an expert in the conception, development and management of mall entertainment centres in the U.S."

The Power Photo Kiosk incorporates the latest software and hardware technologies to create a unique entertainment experience. Power Kiosks Inc. has licensing agreements with the World Wrestling Federation, Universal Studios and the National Football League, among other sports and entertainment entities. Customers can create photographic portraits of themselves with recognized superstars or in dramatic or comic settings of their choice, merging their image with those provided on an interactive touch-screen monitor. The output is then submitted to a high-speed printer whose technology incorporates recent dramatic advances in computer image processing to give superior image quality and excellent color reproduction to each and every image. The kiosk also functions as a highly effective multi-media advertising center through its static side panels and high-resolution monitor for displaying video commercials.

Mike Evans, President of Playtime Entertainment Inc., Colorado states, "I am impressed by the synergies I see here. Our company already has a presence in numerous mall centers and the Power Photo Kiosks will enhance the value and appeal of our entertainment areas. Through our affiliate, Playtime Creations, the Photo Kiosk also allows us to deliver more effective advertising message that our corporate sponsors demand in a format never seen before."

"During the roll-out, KRI will be contacting other mall management companies with which we have solid working relationships. There are approximately 372 grade "A" shopping malls throughout Canada and it is our ultimate goal to place Power Photo Kiosks in all these locations," according to David Berger, president of KRI Canada Ltd
