Elo TouchSystems Enhances Its Entuitive Family of Touchmonitors

New 3000 and 5000 Series Now Focused on Specific Market Segments

Elo TouchSystems, Inc., the global leader in touch technology and a unit of Tyco Electronics, has announced its Entuitive family of "designed for touch" touchmonitors has been enhanced to focus on providing solutions for specific market applications. The new Entuitive 3000 Series of LCD and CRT touchmonitors is used in a variety of markets, with specific emphasis on providing solutions for applications in the retail, hospitality, industrial, gaming/entertainment, and office automation markets. These CRT and LCD touchmonitors are available in a range of display sizes, from 12- to 21-inch; a choice of touch technologies, including AccuTouch, CarrollTouch, IntelliTouch, iTouch and SecureTouch; and several form factors, such as desktop, panel mount, and rear mount. Agency approvals for the Entuitive 3000 Series include UL, cUL, CE and FCC.

Elo's new Entuitive 5000 Series of LCD touchmonitors is targeted at the medical market. Available in a 15-inch display, the Entuitive 5000 Series of touchmonitors come with Elo's renowned touch technologies and in the same form factors as the 3000 Series. Agency approvals for the 5000 Series include UL, cUL, FCC, CE and CB. Both the Entuitive 3000 and 5000 Series are available with or without a touch interface for flexible usage.

"Elo has a touchmonitor and touch technology designed to meet every need in every market, whether it's our iTouch 'touch-on-tube' technology enhancing a player's interaction with a gaming machine or our IntelliTouch surface-wave technology ensuring attractive display in a public-access kiosk-based application," says Mike Sigona, Elo's market manager. "Our Entuitive 3000 Series of 'designed for touch' touchmonitors maintains the reliability and flexibility our customers have come to expect from Elo, while adding improved clean cable routing and a specially designed stable base that can be bolted down."

Elo's Entuitive Open-Frame Gaming Monitors
Elo's new family of 15-, 17- and 19-inch CRT open-frame gaming monitors are an integral part of the 3000 Series. These monitors are available with or without Elo's breakthrough iTouch touch-on-tube technology. Only Elo offers iTouch, which senses touches through surface waves on the CRT faceplate itself, dispensing with the need for a coated glass overlay. This ensures that the monitor displays the same picture quality, bright colours and clear graphics with or without a touch interface.

Elo's 5000 Series: Built for Touch
Like Elo's 3000 Series, the new 5000 Series has been built from the ground up with touch in mind. As with the 3000 Series, speakers are now located in the head of the unit, cable management has been improved, a solid base provides a touch-steady interface, and the on-screen display (OSD) can be locked-out from user intervention.

"The increased maximum brightness display of 300 cd/m2 and wider viewing angle of 150 of Elo's Entuitive 5000 Series add extra dimensions to an already popular line of touchmonitors," says Mike Sigona. "For example, Elo's 1526L 15-inch Entuitive LCD touchmonitor is a truly integrated solution for medical equipment OEMs and healthcare system integrators seeking a reliable, durable and cost-effective medical-grade touchmonitor. Designed for hospital and healthcare environments, it's equipped with a medical-grade power supply that meets UL2601 current-leakage requirements.
