Hillsboro, OR - Interactive merchandising display developer MTi, Inc. has hired Kai Carlson as Director of Operations. In his new position, he will supervise manufacturing for the company's switching and retail point-of-purchase displays.

Carlson combines an extensive background in engineering, manufacturing and business management with strong systems control and strategic planning skills. Most recently, he has been owner of and partner in several engineering /manufacturing companies. Past experience includes management positions at Motif Inc., AGPR/TTU and Tektronix.

"MTi has a long history of delivering quality products to the consumer electronics industry," says Carlson. "My goal is to continue improving processes and streamlining production."

In fact, Carlson's first goals include reevaluating benchmarks and standards for manufacturing, as well as updating production objectives.

The Featuring MTi's own Sentry System™ design,camera display makes it easy for shoppers to demo new cameras and for retailers to protect them from theft dual alarms in the hand-held post and countertop stand make it virtually impossible for would-be thieves to escape undetected.

The display can hold a selection of digital cameras or camcorders, with each mounted on a hand-held post attached to the stand by a retractable cable. The key to the Sentry Security System is its comprehensive alarm system. Like conventional camera security displays, a high-pitched alarm will be triggered inside the countertop stand when a cable is cut or a camera illegally removed. In conventional displays, if a camera is cut, or illegally removed, an alarm will sound inside the display. It continues to sound until store personnel resets the system. MTi's Sentry security system adds a Unique to MTi's display, a second alarm will also sound inside a the hand-held post - alerting store personnel to the location of the camera and thief that is secured to the camera.
