MilitaryMoves.com Rolls Out IBM-Designed Wireless Kiosks To Military Bases And USO Military Welcome Centers Across U.S.

Military Personnel And Families Gain Free Access To MilitaryMoves.com Portal And Services

INTERNET WIRE -- MilitaryMoves.com, the oldest, largest and #1 international Website for the military and DOD communities, has announced a plan to install more than 1,000 wireless kiosks on military bases in the U.S. and USO Military Welcome Centers located in major airports, using an IBM-developed (NYSE: IBM) solution of hardware, software, implementation, maintenance and hosting services.

The IBM-designed kiosks will allow all military personnel, their family members and the DOD communities to access the MilitaryMoves.com portal in a wireless environment that supports a full range of services and activities including phone access, e-mail, leisure entertainment and smart card processing for consumer, financial and real-estate transactions.

The kiosks will offer local and national companies, that want to support our military, a unique form of advertising. Instead of banner ads, the kiosk will run 30-second full motion videos on a separate 17" monitor attached to the kiosk.

The initial kiosk roll out commencing in July will include a variety of Army, Air Force, Marine and Navy commands.

"MilitaryMoves.com is constantly expanding its services and searching for those companies that can significantly benefit the military and DOD communities," said MilitaryMoves.com CEO Bill Powers. "By adding the IBM computer kiosk to our arsenal of services, we can now offer the military and DOD communities not only FREE access to the Internet, but also access to hundreds of different service providers that can improve their quality of life. Some of the services that will be provided are on-line banking, cash back when buying or selling a home from Smart Move, Internet access for only $9.95 from PeoplePC and free PC to phone calls anywhere within the US from Net2Phone.com."

"IBM technology and kiosk services will help establish a trusted portal to the Internet that is easily accessible from US military bases," said Cortlandt Johnson, IBM's Manager of the National Kiosk Practice. "IBM is pleased to be supporting MilitaryMoves.com in delivering innovative offerings to our military personnel across the United States."

About MilitaryMoves.com

MilitaryMoves.com is the oldest, largest and #1international web site for the military and DOD communities. Founded by William S. Powers and Greg Uptagrafft USN (Ret.) in Virginia Beach, VA in 1999. Military Moves.com's primary objectives are to provide pertinent information, savings, discounts and convenience through the Internet to those Military personnel that may be 1,000's of miles from home. The site contains the demographics for each of the over 200 military bases in the US. It has its own shopping mall with stores like Hickory Farms, Barnes and Noble, Office Max, CVS, Dell Computers, CBS Sports and many more. A portion of every advertising dollar earned is spent sponsoring Morale, Welfare and Recreation events and thereby reduces the cost of these events to the military.
