NEOPRODUCTS ACQUIRES UK KIOSK COMPANY LGC ASSOCIATES
Leading kiosk manufacturer, NeoProducts has announced this week it has
acquired one of the UK's longest established kiosk developers, LGC
Associates, for an undisclosed sum. LGC, established since 1985,
pioneered the kiosk market in the UK and across Europe providing custom
design and standard products for public access solutions to many sectors
including retailers, governments and businesses. It has provided diverse
kiosk solutions in many markets including ticketing, travel, healthcare,
training, POS and POI (point of sale and point of information), etc. The
acquisition includes all staff and LGC's kiosk development and sales
operations at Godalming, Surrey, England. The company will initially be
known as Neo-LGC during the transition phase, and will continue operations
from its current base.
NeoProducts, originally founded in Australia in 1987, has established a
reputation as the leading kiosk supplier to government worldwide. The
company is now one of the primary kiosk suppliers internationally with its
range of fully engineered touchscreen terminals and has recently
established its own manufacturing facility in the UK. The company was
recently successful in winning the largest European kiosk project to-date
to supply over 9000 kiosks to UK Jobcentres.
Mike Smith, NeoProducts' Managing director said: "I am delighted to have
concluded this deal. With the resources of LGC Associates now on
board, we have significantly strengthened our team in the UK and our
position in the European market. LGC's team have built a fine reputation
for developing many diverse kiosk solutions that are effective tools in
today's market and this will provide NeoProducts with a considerable
advantage in European markets."
Peter Lowe, who formed LGC in 1985, will continue with the merged company
as principal consultant.
"The combined strengths of Neo's extensive engineering capability and high
level production capacity, coupled with LGC's considerable design and
marketing expertise will be a formidable resource." said Peter Lowe. He
continued: "As a group, we can apply the combined experience gained from
sales of around 30,000 touchscreen terminals and the ability to produce
more than 100 highly engineered terminals per day."
NeoProducts now has substantial production, sales and support facilities
in both UK and Australia, as well as distributors worldwide. Last year,
the company was awarded the Frost & Sullivan "Best Customer Focus Award"
in its annual report on the world kiosk market. ISO 9001 accredited, the
company serves a wide range of clients from a variety of industries
including government - both national and local - telecommunications,
retail, leisure and entertainment, travel and ticketing and financial.
