KIOSKS UNITE EMPLOYEES AT BELL HELICOPTER
BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Kiosk Information Systems (KIS) recently produced 25
kiosks to bridge the gap between office and shop floor employees at Bell
Helicopter, a Texas-based helicopter manufacturer. The kiosks provide all
7,000 employees access to the company portal, MyBellHelicopter.com, which
provides Bell news, company policies and procedures, internal employment
opportunities, benefits and wellness information, training applications,
online pay stubs and direct deposit updates, hazardous material
information, government compliance standards, and more.
Prior to the deployment of kiosks, shop floor employees depended upon
paper-based and word-of-mouth systems to remain abreast of company events,
keep track of time spent on projects, and communicate with office staff.
"At Bell Helicopter, we are committed to constantly improving
communication among employees at all levels," said P.D. Shabay, executive vice president
of administration and chief human resources officer at Bell Helicopter.
"By installing kiosks, we can extend company information and services to our entire staff."
For Bell Helicopter, self-service kiosks connect dispersed employees,
the kiosks a vital component of the organization's human resource program.
"Today, it is common for an organization's office staff to be housed in a
location separate from the manufacturing facilities," said KIS President,
Rick Malone. "The KI-440 Industrial kiosk deployed by Bell Helicopter
features a rugged construction that can withstand the harsh environment of
the factory floor and a flexible design that enables the installation of a
wide variety of devices. Kiosks are the solution to extending
computer-based company services to shop floor employees."
Founded in 1993, KIS is the established leader in the design and
manufacturing of kiosks, public Internet stations and other electronic
