Appian Graphics Partners with Deep Video Imaging Actual Depth displays receive support from the Industry Leader

REDMOND, Wash., September 11, 2000 - Appian Graphics today announced a partnership with Deep Video Imaging, a New Zealand-based company that develops and markets three-dimensional displays. Deep Video Imaging (DVI) has approved Appian's compatibility with their hardware and will offer Appian's multi-monitor graphics cards as optional display adaptors for their display modules.

DVI's technology uses overlapping LCD screens to create a superimposed three-dimensional image, giving the user an actual depth of field. The design is intended to enhance interaction and visualization, within the footprint of a conventional monitor. A single Appian Gemini(tm) multi-monitor card will power the entire DVI display.

"Appian multi-monitor products integrate very well with DVI displays," said Gabriel Engel, General Manager of Deep Video Imaging. "Our customers will be pleased to see an industry leader like Appian as a preferred vendor." DVI's technology has met with international success in the electronic kiosk market and appears to have unlimited applications, including scientific visualization, gaming and desktop publishing.

"DVI's outlook is very similar to Appian's, which makes it easy for us to work together," said Scott Lathe, VP of Marketing at Appian. "They market a best-of-class product to much of the market segment where Appian is an established leader."
