Netkey CEO Alex Richardson to Deliver Keynote at Top Kiosk Industry Conference

BRANFORD, Conn. - Sept. 18, 2000 - How companies can increase revenues and improve customer satisfaction through Internet kiosks will be the subject of the opening keynote address from Netkey Inc. CEO Alex Richardson at the KioskCom Internet Kiosks Conference, Sept. 25 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The three-day conference is one of the kiosk industry's premier events, and presents an opportunity for companies to learn how to use Internet kiosks for a variety of revenue generating and customer service applications, including Web payphones, public Internet kiosks and virtual private networks (VPNs).

Industry analysts Frost & Sullivan projects that interactive kiosk revenues will grow by more than 150% in the next six years, from $836.5 million to more than $3.25 billion. Forrester Research estimates that 80 percent of retailers intend to add kiosks to their stores by 2002.

Netkey's patented software is considered the industry standard for end-to-end Internet kiosk solutions used for sales, marketing, customer service, public information and employee communications. The company won the overall "Best of Show" award from Kiosks.org at the recent KioskCom Retail conference for an online pharmacy kiosk designed for Familymeds.com

Richardson's address, "Self-Service Kiosk Technology for the 21st Century," will highlight how many telecommunications providers, retailers, banks and e-businesses capture more customers through self-service web kiosks. Conference attendees will learn how to build and deploy large-scale Web kiosk networks and leverage on-line partnerships and content syndications.

Richardson is recognized as one of the world's top authorities on Internet kiosks. Under his leadership, Netkey designed the world's first web payphone, the Hong Kong Power Phone. Netkey powers over 1,000 Web payphones that are used by millions of visitors in Hong Kong's airport, subway, train, and convention centers. The Power Phone application is funded through advertising and transactions. In his address, Richardson will discuss how the project demonstrates that Internet kiosks and Web-phones are accepted by the public and have been adopted by the telecommunications industry as vending points.
