Semtor and Cybertotems Serve Soccer Fans at 2001 FIFA U-17 World Championship
(Fort Lauderdale, Florida - October 18, 2001) This year soccer fans visiting Trinidad and Tobago for the 2001 FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Under-17 World Championship were able to find information on their favorite teams, current tournament scores and stats, game highlight video, and information on the best places to eat, drink and entertain themselves while in the islands - all without a TV, radio, newspaper or telephone.
Cybertotems Technologies, LLC, a full service developer and manufacturer of interactive multimedia kiosk systems, and Semtor, a customer self-service software developer, teamed together to place a total of eight interactive kiosks at stadiums, hotels and the airport in Trinidad. The dual-screen kiosks featured touch screens for user access, and a high-resolution display screen for running video clips and advertisements. Updated dynamic information was provided several times a day through an interface with the content management system of the FIFA website. Fans watched video highlights from the tournament, read bios of their favorite players, accessed schedules for future games, and learned the history of the tournament.
Semtor develops customer self-service applications for the retail and travel/tourism industries. They help clients increase revenue, decrease costs and improve customer relationships with software that ties into the client's current system and website, insuring that end users receive the most current information available. Semtor is located in South Florida, and primarily focuses on client engagements in the Southeastern U.S. and Caribbean. To learn more about Semtor, visit their website at
