News Release
West Chester, PA - November 17, 2000 - MEI, the world's leading supplier of high-performance electronic
payment systems has announced the PNV (NASDAQ:PNVN), the premier provider of "in cab" bundled communications,
cable TV, and Internet access services to the trucking industry, has selected the MEI AE2600 bill acceptor for use
in its Connect!Point Internet kiosks and retail vending machines.
MEI AE2600 bil acceptors have been specified in three different PNV applications, 800 of which have been deployed to
date nationwide in truck stops and fleet terminals. This deployment includes CONNECT!Point Internet kiosks and two
PNV vending machines - one used for dispensing DriverTalk pre-paid phone cards and one used for dispensing service
cards that can be applied towards PNVs services.
"Kiosks are increasingly becoming the platform of choice for commerce, communications, education, and training in the
trucking industry," said Tony Allen, vice president of PNV Operations. "PNV understands the needs of professional
truck drivers and continually develops products and services designed to meet those needs. Since most of our customers
are constantly on the road, many prefer to use cash for these services. MEI bill acceptors provide the reliability and
performance we need to make paying with cash easy and convenient for our customers."
"We're pleased to see our products in more and more retail kiosk applications and to be teaming up with leading
kiosk OEMs like PNV", says Otto Lohse, retail market manager of MEI. "Truck stops are an important part of the
convenience store industry, which is expected to expand its use of cash-accepting kiosks."
