Netkey Announces First Enterprise Kiosk Software Package
Supporting Microsoft Windows XP
BRANFORD, Conn. – Dec. 17, 2001 – Netkey, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise solutions for self-service kiosks and other customer-facing devices, today announced that its Netkey Creator 5.5 kiosk application authoring software suite has been tested and certified by Netkey to run on the Microsoft Windows XP computer operating system.
Netkey Creator is the most widely used authoring suite for the design and operation of Web kiosk applications used for sales, marketing and customer service. With this certification, retailers, banks and other businesses can now use Netkey Creator 5.5 with the confidence that it is fully compatible with Microsoft’s newest operating system. Windows XP was launched in October and comes installed on most new computers. Netkey Creator now supports the complete range of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Me, and Windows 98, along with Microsoft’s current browsers, Internet Explorer 6 and 5.
“As a long-time Microsoft Certified Partner, Netkey has been at the forefront of designing powerful and feature-rich software solutions for self-service that are based on the Microsoft Windows platform,” said Alex Richardson, CEO of Netkey. “This certification means retailers, banks and other customer-centric organizations can deploy mission-critical interactive Web kiosk systems built on the industry’s newest and most reliable software technology.”
Netkey Creator’s patented, industry-standard technology provides complete control over the design of Web kiosk applications, with rich functionality that supports multimedia graphics, Active X, internationalization with Unicode character sets, and integration to peripheral devices including printers, bar code scanners, bill acceptors, magnetic stripe card readers, and security mats. The Netkey Creator kiosk run-time component is used to control incoming and outgoing Web access, provide rich functionality and URL restriction, lockdown the keyboard, and attract viewing customers with multimedia welcome screens. When combined with the Netkey Manager server software suite, the complete Netkey solution provides comprehensive and scalable reporting, monitoring, management and analysis of self-service networks.
