Aptec drives new business ventures
by GITEX Times Staff

Swing when you’re winning: Ali Baghdadi fine tunes his game ahead of GITEX.
THINK APTEC, think IT distribution? Well think again. The Aptec Group now has several more strings to its bow with the formation of several new businesses in the last year, all of which are represented on the company’s stand at this year’s GITEX.

Aptec has launched an IT services unit — Advanced Technology Services (ATS) — and is also making its mark in the smart kiosk sector with Aptec Kiosk Services (AKS). Aptec Mobile also joined hands with mobile phone distribution giant Brightstar to form a new joint venture company called Brightec.

Alongside these new businesses, Aptec's core distribution operation is out in force at GITEX as the company showcases the significant benefits it offers resellers.

“GITEX is a unique event for Aptec to meet existing and new customers,” explains Ali Baghdadi, Aptec’s president and CEO.

“Aptec has enjoyed steady year-on-year growth since its foundation more than 25 years ago. GITEX has supported that growth every step of the way and we expect to enjoy further growth this year.”

Aptec has big plans for the coming months including the restructuring of the business under a new holding company based out of DIFC. For Baghdadi the mission is simple: to strengthen market share by adding new products and services for Aptec’s valued customers.
