SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 1997--

Recognized as best use of Microsoft technology in the hospitality industry

ATCOM/INFO, a premier provider of high-speed public Internet access, Tuesday announced that it has been awarded the 1997 Microsoft Retail Application Developer (RAD) Award in the hospitality industry for the company's Cyberbooth Hospitality Solution, an in-room high-speed Internet and business productivity network for hotels.

The ATCOM/INFO Cyberbooth Hospitality Solution provides the business traveler with high-speed access to e-mail, the World Wide Web, CompuServe, America Online and other communication services from the privacy of their hotel room. The solution runs on Windows NT Server, and each in-room station is equipped with Microsoft Office.

"We're excited to be recognized by such a distinguished technology leader," said Neil Senturia, ATCOM/INFO's chief executive officer. "Our Hospitality Solution, with high-speed Internet and e-mail access and Microsoft Office, gives new meaning to the term 'room service.'"

The second annual RAD competition recognizes application developers who make the best use of Microsoft technology to provide tangible business benefits to their customers. Additional attention was placed this year on applications that make the best use of corporate intranets and public Internet access.

"The in-room systems arena is one of the most exciting and rapidly changing areas of hotel technology. It is great to see that these solutions are being delivered on the Microsoft BackOffice platform," said Stan Julien, hospitality industry marketing manager at Microsoft Corp. "In winning this award category, ATCOM/INFO is clearly staking its claim to be a leading supplier in the category."

Entries were judged by an independent panel of experts in retail and distribution and hospitality technology. No Microsoft employees took part in the panel. Judging was based on the following criteria: quantifiable business benefits, best use of available Microsoft Windows operating systems-based technology, ease of adoption, and best integration and exploitation of intranet and Internet technology.
