New York Islanders and ETM Join Forces

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1998--Purchasing tickets for the upcoming New York Islanders season will be as easy as a ``touch of the button'' with either a trip to the grocery store or shopping mall, the phone or the internet, 24 hours a day.

The Islanders have reached an agreement with ETM Entertainment Network for tickets to be sold through the ETM Ticket Machine, self-service ticket kiosks located in retail locations throughout the New York Tri-State area. ETM will also sell Islanders tickets through its network of phone centers, IVR (interactive voice response) phone system and the Internet. Tickets for the October and November games for the New York Islanders will go on sale on Oct. 1, 1998 at 9:00 a.m.

The Islanders join The New York Mets and the Shubert Organization and the Intrepid Museum in offering tickets through the ETM system in the New York area. Tickets for Shubert's theatre clients, both Broadway and Off-Broadway, are expected to go on sale through ETM this Fall (Tele-Charge listings.)

The ETM Ticket Machine, developed by the ETM Entertainment Network, will enable Islanders fans to purchase tickets by credit or debit card through the self-service kiosks located at select King Kullen Grocery Stores on Long Island and coming soon to many shopping mall locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.

The ETM Ticket Machine gives the customer access to choice seats through an interactive touch screen transaction that takes the customer through the purchasing process with seating diagrams that highlight the best available seats and pricing options. The customer receives the tickets right at the machine in as little as a minute. While at the kiosk, the customer is treated to video and audio messages with previews of upcoming events and promotions, highlights of games, interviews and specialized sponsor promotions.

Islanders tickets can be purchased on the Internet at www.etm.com and also through the IVR system that allows customers to use a touch tone telephone to get event information, order tickets and find the ETM Ticket Machine locations. ETM has a ``will-call'' feature that enables customers to order tickets through the Web or the phone and pick them up at any ETM Ticket Machine.

In addition to convenience, the New York Islanders fans will pay lower service charges with the ETM Network. The service charge will range from $2 to $4 per ticket, depending upon the price of the ticket down from $5.75 to $7.45 per ticket last season. Handling charges will also be reduced from $2 per order to $1.50 for phone orders.

``This season our fans will be able to purchase tickets at fan-friendly kiosks plus 24 hours-a-day on the Web and phones,'' said N.Y. Sports Ventures President and Chief Executive Officer David Seldin. ``Equally important, this puts an end to the abusive service charges experienced by Islanders fans. Instead of paying $13.50 in service and handling fees for a pair of $19 tickets, our fans will now pay only $5.50.''

``We're extremely pleased to be working with the N.Y. Islanders in providing their fans a more convenient, fun and less costly way of purchasing tickets. We're confident that with our unique and innovative approach to marketing and distributing tickets, that we will have an impact with the NHL as we're having with both MLB and the NFL,'' said ETM President Peter Schniedermeier.
