Navidec's Web-Based Kiosks Put Benefits at Employees' Fingertips

DENVER, and OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- City employees can now check retirement plan balances, transfer funds, research investments and get advice from plan representatives at the touch of a finger. Three touch-screen kiosks were launched in Oakland this week by BenefitsCorp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Great West Life & Annuity Insurance Company, to keep its plan members up-to-date and informed about their benefits. The kiosks, which were developed by Navidec Inc. (Nasdaq: NVDC - news), include videoconference technology that enables plan representatives to walk employees through their benefits, using information from the BenefitsCorp web site. Similar kiosks will be launched for 23,000 Georgia State employees later this month.

``Integrating its redesigned web site into the kiosk environment allows BenefitsCorp to easily provide plan information to thousands of government employees who lack desktop Internet access,'' said Navidec's Director of Kiosk Development, Mike Franklin. ``Providing videoconferencing capabilities with trained representatives helps personalize the experience for those still intimidated by the web.''

In addition to integrating state-of-the-art videoconference technology and providing access to the BenefitsCorp web site, the touch-screen kiosks are automatically updated as changes are made to the web site, and provide links to customer-specific information. The kiosks are a product of Navidec's NetSolutions Group that provides Internet-based solutions for clients including the Colorado Avalanche, Richmond American Homes and Pentax.
