SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 1999--InfoGenesis, a leading provider of hospitality information technology, Friday announced that Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts has implemented InfoGenesis Revelation point of sale (POS) at the company's Trump Indiana casino.

Revelation is managing all food and beverage operations at the Trump Indiana riverboat casino and the property's 300-room luxury hotel. Trump Indiana chose Revelation for its easy-to-use POS operation and open systems design. The Microsoft Windows NT platform and centralized database architecture provide real-time reporting flexibility.

According to Kathy Kidner, MIS Director for Trump Indiana: "Our users liked the intuitiveness of the Revelation touch screen application and the familiar Windows interface. The move from a dealer support relationship to direct vendor support was a great decision. An InfoGenesis project management team came in and performed the entire installation. The project was a smooth success."

Revelation replaced Trump's existing POS, a proprietary, UNIX- based system, with the robustness of Microsoft SQL Server, providing powerful information management and performance analysis.

A wireless radio frequency (RF) network connects POS terminals on the casino riverboat to the POS server at the on-shore Pavilion for uninterrupted real-time communication.

"Other vendors we looked at wanted to put separate POS servers on the boat and dock, creating another POS system for us to manage, but InfoGenesis was able to use a single server and a wireless network," said Kidner. "The less systems to manage, the better."

Running in the Windows NT operating environment, Revelation easily integrates with third-party applications. An interface to Trump's property management system (PMS) from LMS, for on-line guestroom charging from any POS terminal, was designed and implemented to further automate food and beverage operations.

Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts Inc. owns and operates Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and Trump Marina Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., as well as Trump Indiana, the hotel casino at Buffington Harbor, Ind., on Lake Michigan.
