GREENWOOD, Ind., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- In anticipation of continued
tight labor markets, Personnel Management, Inc. (Nasdaq: TPMI - news; PMI) has
launched an aggressive, national kiosk recruiting campaign. PMI kiosks are freestanding mobile units that can be easily transported to
various locations. ``PMI kiosks are designed to bring employment opportunities
to high traffic areas, giving us the opportunity to significantly expand our
recruiting reach,'' stated Kathleen McDonald, National Director of Recruiting
and Marketing, Personnel Management, Inc. Tight labor markets nationwide have challenged companies in their efforts
to recruit and retain candidates at all levels. The National Association for
Temporary Staffing Services (NATSS) reported in their most recent survey that
temporary help services reached an unprecedented level in 1997 with receipts
growing 15.4% to $50.3 billion. NATSS attributes this growth in part to the
nation's tight labor market saying ``an increasing number of businesses have
turned to staffing firms that have the expertise in recruiting, screening and
training works, thus enabling the business to meet their customers' growing
demand.'' Kiosks as a recruiting tool in the staffing industry are a growing trend
but PMI kiosks have a unique marketplace advantage because they go beyond
automation and are staffed by experienced PMI placement consultants who
deliver personal service to each applicant. McDonald stated, ``We have been
called to revolutionize our recruiting practices. Gone are the days of
relying on passive recruiting mechanisms -- successful recruiting is achieved
through an interactive, grassroots style approach to recruiting. The PMI
kiosk incorporates this recruiting philosophy to ensure more valid applicant
responses and ultimately a better placement for a PMI applicant and client
company.'' Based in Greenwood, Indiana, Personnel Management, Inc. provides staffing
services to businesses through 50 offices in Indiana, Kentucky, Florida,
Georgia and North Carolina. PMI is a subsidiary of DHI Holdings, Inc. and is
affiliated with Diversco, Inc., an industrial services cleaning firm doing
business throughout 16 states in the Eastern U.S. and headquartered in
Spartanburg, SC.
