(Business Wire; 06/08/98)
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 1998--Players Network (OTC BB:PNTV),
the first digital, 24-hour gaming and entertainment network which specializes
in producing television programming to serve the gaming industry, announced the
introduction of their new line of all-digital, full-motion video interactive
kiosk designed for casino/hotels.
The kiosks are free-standing units, placed on the casino floor, and enable
guests to access information on gaming instruction, event schedules, dining
reviews, menus and reservations, retail shopping information, club card status
reports, and an automated comp printing system. The kiosks also display two
dimensional property maps and directories, entertainment news, box office
information, casino promotions, and updates from Players Network news.
The units also originate marketing studies, and track and disseminate
statistical guest information for the casino/hotel.
Mark Bradley, President of the Players Network, stated, "This product will
allow Players Network to combine its existing programming content for a new,
advanced application. In the future the kiosk will act as a complete
information center combining its existing features with Internet access and
video conferencing. We are extremely pleased with the results."
Players Network interactive kiosk utilizes digital CD quality sound and a
parabolic sound dome, that delivers up to 16 channels of audio for multiple
language use.
In addition, Players Network is currently in the process of finalizing
negotiations to add its 24-hour gaming programming in several major
casino/hotels, as well as naming prominent new board members.
Players Network provides in-room gaming programming for hotel casinos. Its
programming is produced in their studios in Las Vegas, and distributed to
client hotel casinos on a closed circuit basis with state of the art technology
which was developed by SeaChange International (NASDAQ:SEAC). The programming
is designed to entertain and educate guests while acting as a marketing tool
for the casino and advertisers. It educates guests on the various types of
gaming available, how the casino games are played as well as sports and racing
information, gaming news, entertainment, and promotions about the hotel casino
and gaming facilities.
Future expansion plans include interactive television designed to further
the in-room educational programming, cable syndication, pay-per-view, and
instructional gaming videos. Players Network can be viewed at the Four Queens
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, The Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas,
and at Primadonna Resorts' (NASDAQ:PRMA) three Primm Valley, Nevada casinos;
Primm Valley, Buffalo Bill's, and Whiskey Pete's.
