GENESISINTERMEDIA.COM BEGINS SANTA ANA MAINPLACE CENTERLINQ
INSTALLATION
LOS ANGELES, Jul 6, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Genesis Intermedia,
Inc., a subsidiary of GenesisIntermedia.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: GENI) today
announced that it has begun installation of its CENTERLINQ network in
the MainPlace shopping center in Orange County, California. Grand
opening is scheduled for August 1, 1999.
CENTERLINQ is a network of freestanding Internet access portals known as
kiosks, which provide consumers with direct access to the Internet.
Marketing messages are delivered in an interactive format and targeted
to consumers with a specific demographic profile. The CENTERLINQ kiosks
provide a window to the Internet via a touch-screen computer terminal,
which can be installed in almost any location, such as shopping malls,
grocery stores, schools and city halls. The kiosks provide businesses
with information regarding the preferences and interests of the
consumers who utilize them, whichenables these businesses to more
successfully target consumers likely to purchase their products and
services in the future.
"We are excited about the expansion of the CENTERLINQ system and its
installation in the MainPlace shopping center," said Christopher
Miglino, vice president of business development for CENTERLINQ.
"MainPlace, withits dominance in the Orange County area, is an ideal
mall for our system and its frequent shopper program."
Just minutes from Disneyland, MainPlace has 190 specialty stores, three
full-service restaurants, 17 eateries, six movie theaters and four
major department stores.
"One of the most significant challenges that mall developers face isto
understand their consumers' spending habits. CENTERLINQ allows mall
developers and advertisers to create a better relationship with their
consumer," said Miglino.
GenesisIntermedia.com markets, advertises and sells its own products
and those of clients utilizing conventional media and interactive
multimedia technologies, including the Internet, interactive kiosks
through Genesis's CENTERLINQ Network, CD-ROMs and DVDs.
The CENTERLINQ system is installed in several select malls throughout
the continental United States with an aggressive long-term expansion
system planned.
