VITEC Multimedia and Visible Light Sign Global Online Distribution Agreement

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 1998--Thanks to a new distribution agreement between Visible Light and VITEC Multimedia, signed at the IBC (International Business Communications) trade show in Amsterdam, Netherlands, MPEG users will now be able to download the award-winning VITEC Multimedia Video Clip MPEG-2 SE software online.

The unprecedented MPEG-2 SE editing software will edit MPEG-2 in a native format, with no dedicated hardware required. Also featured: cut and paste editing or pre-editing of video clips and the ability to clean up the end points of existing clips without re-encoding the entire file. Applications include DVD, video kiosks, MPEG-2 archival, etc.

VITEC's MPEG-2 SE editor has been modified from the PRO version to be downloadable online, though the SE version is I & P frame accurate only and does not support titling or the other MPEG utilities like the PRO version. The PRO version is also available from Visible Light. (I and B images means 3/25th of a second accuracy on PAL sequences or 1/10th of a second accuracy on NTSC sequences with standard GOP structure).
