HACKENSACK, N.J., Oct 4, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ObjectSoft Corporation (Nasdaq: OSFT) today announced that it has signed advertising agreements with Universal Home Entertainment (NYSE: VO), USA Home Entertainment, and Playboy Entertainment (NYSE: PLA).
"We're excited to sign on these studios," says Ray Schwartzman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ObjectSoft. "Advertising on FastTake(TM) is a new marketing concept that has great potential for advertisers and retailers. The kiosk's interactive appeal both entertains and informs its user. The new ads are a great way to get information in front of consumers while they are making a purchasing or rental decision."
"FastTake opens a new door in advertising for us," says Paul Freehauf, Senior Director of Creative, USA Home Entertainment. "It offers the unique ability to introduce our products to video consumers who may not have been aware of them."
The advertising, which will be carried on the FastTake interactive kiosks, will feature banner ads and/or preview trailers of new release video titles. Preview ads will be featured on the home page and in the Editor's Pics section of the kiosk up until the street date and in the new release section for two months.
"What better place to reach our consumers than when they're looking for videos?" says Tony Borg, Director of Sales and Promotion, Playboy Entertainment Group. "This new medium allows us to expand our advertising efforts to the general movie viewing public."
Advertising on FastTake will include: Universal Home Entertainment, The Mummy; and Playboy Entertainment, Playmate 2000 and Web of Seduction. Additionally, USA Home Entertainment has 37 sports titles and ObjectSoft has designed a custom Sports Video page and banner ad.
Additionally, HBO Home Video has agreed to test the power of FastTake with advertising support on the Babar: King of the Elephants and Bridge of Dragons titles.
FastTake is an in-store interactive kiosk that suggests premiere titles from various participating studios. FastTake allows the consumer to quickly find and locate a video title by name, genre, actor, director or rating. The kiosk also contains information on the video, a picture of the box cover, a trailer, and most cases three pictures from the video. FastTake can also suggest alternate titles through various cross-referencing methods. Using an attractive touch-screen, consumers can view more than 500 movie trailers, reviews and search up to 8,000 titles.
"The advertising presently on the kiosk goes a long way to cover its monthly carrying costs," says George Febish, President and CEO of ObjectSoft. "This support from the major studios validates ObjectSoft's business model, and is a harbinger of the highly profitable potential when available advertising is spoken for."
