KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Neoware Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NWRE), manufacturer of the award-winning NeoStation(TM) family of Windows-based terminals, today announced that Caesars World, Inc. has standardized on Neoware's products for its rollout of thin client terminals throughout Caesars' gaming operations.
Caesars World operates casino properties that include Caesars Palace in Las Vegas; Caesars Atlantic City; Caesars Tahoe; Glory of Rome riverboat in Harrison County, IN; and the Sheraton Casino & Hotel in Tunica, MS; and manages the slot operations at Dover Downs Racetrack in Dover, DE. In addition, the company has other joint venture, real estate and management contract interests in Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Windsor, Ontario; Manila, Philippines; and Gauteng Province of South Africa.
Caesars has already deployed more than 500 Neoware NeoStations throughout its casino properties as replacements for PCs and green-screen terminals. Used in conjunction with Microsoft's Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition and Citrix MetaFrame, the NeoStation allows users to run the latest Windows-based applications from a multi-user server, simplifying administration and lowering costs. Additionally, Caesars uses the NeoStations to connect with existing applications running on AS/400 systems through built-in terminal emulation.
"Thin client computing has proven itself at Caesars World," stated Mark Headley, CIO of Caesars World, Inc. "We've deployed Neoware NeoStations to run Windows-based programs, and connect to our AS/400s for business-critical applications. The NeoStations let us run the latest applications simply and easily, without the up-front cost or administrative overhead of a PC. We've deployed NeoStations throughout our properties, and have been very pleased with how easy thin clients are to administer and maintain."
"Neoware is pleased to work with Caesars to help them transition to NeoStations and thin client computing," stated Michael Kantrowitz, executive vice president of Neoware Systems, Inc. "Thin client computing is a natural for Caesars since they need access to mission critical applications running on a variety of computer systems, and also want to eliminate the cost and administrative overhead of traditional client/server systems."
