Javelin Systems Wireless Handheld POS Terminals Installed at Major U.S. Sports Arenas

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1999--

-- Javelin HHT Selected by Prominent Foodservice
               Management Provider Levy Restaurants --

Javelin Systems Inc.(Nasdaq:JVLN) today announced it has reached an agreement with Levy Restaurants to begin installing Javelin's wireless handheld POS terminals, the HHT(tm), at Levy managed sports arenas.

To date, HHT terminals have been installed in Philips Arena (Atlanta), Staples Center (Los Angeles), Pepsi Center (Denver) and Conseco Fieldhouse (Indianapolis). Additional installations are planned.

"We create the highest quality dining experience for the premium guests at sports arenas throughout the country - including the food, ambience and service," said Tony McDonald, Vice-President of Information Technology at Levy Restaurants. "Our decision to go with Javelin was based on their proven ability, via the Wedge product, to provide an amazing and seamless experience for our guests."

"The results have been tremendous. The HHT transmits and receives data faster and more reliably than the product we had been using. Its user-friendly graphical interface is highly customizable and gives us the room to add additional options in the future."

Glen Cowie, director of marketing for Javelin Systems, said: "The HHT is an affordably-priced wireless POS solution designed for the specific requirements of the foodservice industry. Our goal was to provide the industry with an actual touchscreen product, not a PLU based handheld."

The HHT's unique modular construction allows the use of easily detachable battery packs and magnetic stripe or bar code readers. In addition, the HHT's operating system maximizes power efficiency, providing up to twelve hours of continuous use.
