CHICAGO (BUSINESS WIRE) - Cornerstone Retail Solutions today announced the support of the ExtendYourStore(TM) retail application suite on SCO's award-winning UnixWare 7 platform. The company is also announcing its plans to support Monterey/64, the UNIX operating system being developed in a joint effort between IBM and SCO (NASDAQ:SCOC).

The ExtendYourStore (EYS) product line is a Java-based application suite consisting of customer-centric point-of-sale, Web/kiosk gift registry and e-commerce solutions that can be deployed across multiple platforms and channels.

"Cornerstone is excited about expanding our platform support for UnixWare 7, and when available, Monterey/64. The ability to deliver solutions on scalable, reliable operating environments is very much in line with our focus to deliver integrated commerce software," said Will King, senior vice president, Cornerstone Retail Solutions.

"We are pleased to see Cornerstone's ExtendYourStore Java Application running on UnixWare 7. Their recent port to UnixWare 7 adds to the growing number of retailers who are choosing to run their businesses in a network computing environment," said JP LeBlanc, director, Strategic Partner Management, SCO. "Also, with Cornerstone's plans to port to Monterey/64, they will be able to offer new levels of performance and scalability that customers need to stay competitive in the fast-growing retail industry."

The EYS suite is built on Cornerstone's flexible, scalable, n-tier architecture that works with retailers' existing hardware and operating systems integrated to provide a consistent shopping experience across all channels and a single view of the customer to enable the customer-centric practices needed for today's hyper-competitive environment.

About UnixWare 7

Designed from the ground up to support distributed network computing, UnixWare 7 delivers purpose-built operating system configurations designed to power Departmental Databases, Application Servers, Intranet Servers, Mail and Messaging Servers, and environments specifically tailored to run Telecommunications and other embedded environments. Supported by leading enterprise ISVs, and backed by more enterprise hardware manufacturers than any other UNIX(R) server environment, UnixWare 7 is the standard for next-generation UNIX(R) systems.
