Pathways Signs New Contract With Winter Sports, Inc., Owner of One of The Largest Ski Resorts in North America

The Pathways Group, Inc. Signs New Contract to Install a SPRINTICKET(TM) System at The Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort in Whitefish, Montana

WOODINVILLE, Wash., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pathways Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PTHW - news) announced today that it has signed a new contract to install a SPRINTICKET(TM) unattended ticketing system at The Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in North America. SPRINTICKET dispensers are designed to withstand the harshest outdoor weather conditions, making them ideally suited for use in areas such as Big Mountain where the terrain is typically buried in more than 300 inches of snow each year. The kiosk will offer ski and summer resort customers the ability to purchase a variety of lift and event tickets quickly and easily, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Under the standard terms of the contract, Pathways will perform credit card authorization at the time of purchase and end-of-day account reconciliation for all SPRINTICKET transactions.

Every SPRINTICKET system operates on state-of-the-art hardware platforms using standard Microsoft(TM) operating systems and an SQL database. The use of off-the-shelf hardware and software components provides industry standard reliability and the ability to migrate more easily to new technologies. This also allows Pathways to more readily integrate client accounting and other data processing needs into the SPRINTICKET sales and reporting process.

In addition to accepting all major credit cards, SPRINTICKET dispensers are designed to accept smart cards. A program is currently underway at Big Mountain that allows frequent skiers to purchase lift tickets at discount rates using a special proprietary card. Plans to integrate this proprietary card system into the SPRINTICKET dispenser are being discussed with Big Mountain personnel. This integration would allow frequent skiers to use their cards to purchase tickets at a dispenser located near one of the chairlifts, completely bypassing the lines at the attended ticket windows. As the use of smart card technology expands in the marketplace, Big Mountain could enhance their card system by creating a unique loyalty program. This program would reward frequent customers by allowing them to earn points that could be redeemed for discounts and promotional services at other Big Mountain properties and local participating merchants. Pathways' integrated system and backroom support will also provide Big Mountain with database management, security, card stock management, personalization, and the facilitation of account settlement.

Winter Sports, Inc. is the owner and operator of The Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort in Whitefish, Montana. In skiable acres, Big Mountain is one of the largest ski resorts in the U.S. and Canada, with 67 marked trails and a lift capacity of 13,800 per day. As a summer resort, Big Mountain offers mountain bike trails, gondola/chairlift rides to the 7,000 foot summit, breath-taking views of Glacier National Park, horseback riding, fly-cast fishing, whitewater rafting/kayaking, summer playhouse theatre and concerts, championship golf courses, and other activities.

Mr. Joseph Schuler, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing said, ``We are delighted to add Big Mountain to our growing client list of SPRINTICKET installations in North America. Skiers at Big Mountain will now be able to enjoy the convenience of unattended ticketing while the resort increases revenue without adding additional staff.''

Mr. Michael Collins, President and CEO of Winter Sports, Inc. was quoted as saying, ``We believe that SPRINTICKET dispensers will give our Big Mountain guests 24-hour-a-day access to a wide variety of our recreational activities. We expect to offer cross-country skiing, tubing, and night skiing tickets in addition to the numerous lift ticket products through the new SPRINTICKET dispenser.''

Mr. Carey Daly, President and CEO of The Pathways Group, Inc. added, ``Our SPRINTICKET product continues to experience a high rate of interest and acceptance. As evidenced by installations we have signed or completed to date, the system features are attractive to a number of different sizes and types of venues in the ski and amusement industry.''
