Wincor Nixdorf and Netlife: Optimizing sales networks across all channels

Paderborn, January 29, 2002. Wincor Nixdorf and Netlife AG are to bundle their multichannel banking capabilities. In future, the two companies will be joining forces to offer banks the ability to harmonize and optimize their sales networks across all channels on a single platform. Under the partnership, Wincor Nixdorf's multichannel platform ProClassic/Enterprise, which is used in the key sales channels of branch and self-service operations, will be merged with the established multichannel architecture of Netlife Finance Server (NFS) for banking and brokerage.

Wincor Nixdorfs ProClassic/Enterprise is a consistent architecture platform linking banks existing central data processing systems with traditional and new sales channels alike. The focus here is on customer self-service and branch applications.

With Finance Server, Netlife is contributing a software platform offering communication between banks and their high-expectation customers via a wide array of terminal devices (PCs, mobile cell phones and PDAs) and providing connection with the banks processing systems. Netlife Finance Server supports all the necessary functions of banking and brokerage.

The joint solution is based on the very latest industry standards and is platform-independent, enabling integration with any banks existing infrastructure. New sales channels can be built into this design quickly.

A central, pan-sales-channel business logic ensures business processes can be implemented across all sales channels in a uniform, re-usable manner. For example, the processing logic behind a bank transfer is provided only once for all channels. At the same time, functionality improvements in the process control of a bank transfer result in these being able to be used by all sales channels. In this way, redundancy can be avoided, as compared to single-channel solutions. In addition, the independence of channel selection and business logic guarantees a high degree of re-usability in both areas: this can be used to avoid development and operation of expensive standalone solutions thereby resulting, at the end of the day, in optimized running costs and extremely short go live lead times for new banking functionality on all connected channels.

The close collaboration between Wincor Nixdorf and Netlife will ensure banks have access to the up-to-the-minute, future-proof benefits of multichannel solutions based on leading-edge technologies thanks to both companies bundling their respective core competencies.
