Elo TouchSystems Introduces New e-Commerce Site www.elotouchexpress.com Provides Customers with B2B
Services
Fremont, Calif.-March 16, 2001- Elo TouchSystems, the
global leader in touch technology and a unit of Tyco
Electronics, today launched its new e-commerce system
at
www.elotouchexpress.com. The new e-commerce system
includes a storefront where visitors can use their
credit cards to shop for all their touchmonitor needs
on-line, without having to establish an account with
Elo. The site also provides existing customers with
on-line access to a wide range of information about
their account and Elo products. New customers can
apply for credit terms and reseller discounts by
simply clicking through on-line forms.
To complement this new range of on-line services, Elo
has expanded its flagship Web site, www.elotouch.com,
with an improved interface, easier navigation and
integration with e-commerce services.
www.elotouchexpress.com: B2B Buying and e-Commerce Services
Using www.elotouchexpress.com makes doing e-business
with Elo faster and easier than ever before. The
site's click-through navigation will streamline
service, whether the visitor seeks speedy delivery of
a product or fast access to information about an
order.
"Elo created our new business-to-business e-commerce
site as an on-line shopping center right at our
customers' fingertips," says Gayle Schaeffer,
worldwide vice president of marketing and customer
experience for Elo TouchSystems. "Visitors can select
from a comprehensive range of Elo Entuitive CRT and
LCD touchmonitors, add them to their 'shopping cart'
and pay for them at the 'checkout' in familiar
e-commerce fashion. Customers can choose from
touchmonitors in a variety of form factors and touch
technologies for kiosk, industrial, medical,
hospitality and retail applications. Design engineers
now have a direct route to the product specs, part
numbers and product drawings they require to select
the right touch solution for their needs."
Interactive Account Services
Visitors to Elo's e-commerce site can apply on-line
for credit terms and reseller discounts. Existing
customers can check their account information on-line
by logging into Elo's interactive account services,
which enable them to:
- Check an account balance, including credit limit and
outstanding invoices.
- Check order status, including tracking shipments
(with a direct hyperlink to carrier).
- Look up standard part numbers and/or product
descriptions.
- Use on-line forms to request a touchmonitor under
Elo's QuickStart Product Demo Evaluation program, a
product price quote, or a return authorization number.
"Future phases will add such features as checking
inventory and lead time, and warranty and repair
status," says Schaeffer.
Leading Industry Web Site Provides Even More Benefits
In addition to an easy, efficient interface for
on-line purchasing, information retrieval and
technical support, visitors to Elo's Web site can now
benefit from improved content that includes a new
touch technology section, a custom product
configurator, on-line product agency certifications,
expanded market and application information and more
links to partner sites.
