EINSTEIN SOLUTIONS, INC. PARTNERS WITH WOMAN'S HOSPITAL TO PROVIDE PUBLIC INFORMATION ACCESS KIOSKS
New systems will provide touch screen access to select internet sites, hospital brochures and directions within the hospital campus.
BATON ROUGE - Access to health information, the Internet and directions will be literally "at your fingertips" at Woman's Hospital. Einstein Solutions, Inc., a technology firm based in Palm Harbor, Florida and Baton Rouge, Louisiana has signed an agreement with Woman's Hospital Foundation to provide touch screen consumer information systems to Woman's Hospital. The sleek and attractive systems are designed and built by Einstein's technology partner, Sweden based Megatec AB. The simple touch screen design enables patients and visitors to access health related internet sites, view a listing of brochures, pamphlets and other educational information available through Woman's Hospital and find directions to locations throughout the hospital campus. Systems will also have capabilities such as email birth announcements, interactive registration for classes and seminars and customer service surveys. The first system was installed in Woman's Hospital Main Lobby on March 25, 2000 with additional systems to be added to the major patient and visitor waiting areas over the next two to three months. Similar systems will also be installed near the parking garage entrances and will enable patients and visitors arriving at the hospital to view detailed maps and receive printed directions and maps to their destinations as well as audible directions. The systems will be supported through banner sponsors similar to that found on popular web sites such as Yahoo!. According to Andrew Gross, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, the banners will be appropriate for the hospital and will be approved by hospital management. Examples of potential banner sponsors include baby supply manufacturers and suppliers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, drug store chains, health providers, insurers and banks. "Any business or service provider whose customers are Woman's patients or visitors will benefit from the banner program" according to Gross. Each of the banners will provide a link to either the sponsors web site or to a brief promotional spot. Gross continued, "This enables the hospital to provide this great service at no cost to the public and little cost to the hospital." System sponsors will also benefit, as consumers who have a direct need for the company's products or services will view their banners.
