Press Release

ELO TOUCHSYSTEMS' TOUCHREADY PARTNERS SUPPORT THE POPULARITY OF
     iTOUCH-ENHANCED iMAC WITH SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS

APPLE DVAR SEES A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR TOUCH-BASED iMAC KIOSK SOLUTIONS

     July 20, 1999 Fremont, California

Elo TouchSystems, Inc., global leader in touch technology, and a
wholly owned subsidiary of Raychem Corporation (NYSE:RYC), today
reports the overwhelmingly positive response of its TouchReady
Software Developers, and the market in general, to its latest product
offering, iTouch-enhanced iMac. As an official Apple Direct VAR
(DVAR), Elo enhances iMacs with iTouch, a brand new "touch-on-tube"
technology that turns the CRT surface into a touch sensor. ITouch
technology ensures that the clarity, brightness, safety and appearance
     of iMac's display are preserved.

"Elo has seen significant early response to the iTouch-enhanced iMac,
primarily in the kiosk market where iMac is a natural for applications
where a great looking table-top kiosk is required," says Annemarie
Feely, market manager for Elo TouchSystems. "Specialized,
small-footprint kiosks already account for over twenty-five percent of
the market. The iTouch-enhanced iMac is a complete kiosk without the
burden of a vulnerable keyboard and mouse -- all it requires is the
     right software application."

Last year, Elo created the TouchReady software alliance program to
address the increasing demand for touch-based software applications.
"The significant rise in the number of Apple software developers
joining the TouchReady program is an indication that iTouch-enhanced
iMacs are generating a lot of excitement in the marketplace," Feely
     adds.

Recent TouchReady partners taking an interest in creating kiosk
applications for iTouch-enhanced iMacs are: Mile High Media, Mars
     Interactive and First Wave Technologies.

In order to showcase the potential of iTouch-enhanced iMacs, Elo is
sponsoring the Touch Challenge, a contest for Apple Software
Developers. In three categories -- tomorrow's school, home, or
organization -- winning applications will receive iTouch-enhanced
iMacs in the color of their choice. All entries will be presented as
3-5 minute demonstrations at Elo's booth #169,at MacWorld, in New
York's Jacob Javitz Center, July 21-23. Attendees who stop by to vote
will take home a snappy new cap.
