And the Overall Winner Is… Netkey Awarded Overall Best of Show Prize at KioskCom Retail for its Innovative Pharmaceutical Order and Refill Retail Kiosk

San Francisco, CA /Branford, CT. August 4, 2000 - A veritable show-stopper, the Netkey Familymeds.com kiosk was selected as overall "Best of Show" at the recent KioskCom Retail Conference in Chicago. "By far the best business model we found at the show was FamilyMeds.com by Netkey,Inc." stated Craig Keefner, Editor in Chief of the kiosk industry's association, Kiosks.Org. Netkey designed and operates the innovated pharmacy retail web kiosk for Familymeds, one of the top 25 retail pharmacies in the U.S. and operator of over 122 practice sites in 15 states.

The Netkey application for Familymeds allows a broad range of consumers-- without computer or web experience-- to order and refill prescriptions, access health information and access health care provider info at the touch of a finger. Netkey focuses the consumer on information within familymeds.com and restricts access to other web sites and content.

Netkey's Solution group designed an integrated kiosk structure to welcome consumers of all heights and mobility to use the system through a flexible touch screen monitor. "We design all our retail Netkey applications to allow every consumer access to the digital world," commented Netkey's CEO. "Over the past ten years, Netkey pioneered the world of self-service applications and received over 10 industry awards and two definitive web kiosk patents."

The Netkey kiosk is also fitted with an infrared sensor that monitors commencement and termination of a transaction, protecting the consumer's personal information. The Netkey Web Kiosk Enterprise Software Platform accommodates the rigorous demands of privacy and security since it was designed over the past five years with security conscious customers such Fidelity Investments, Borders Books, JC Penney, Yahoo! and Hong Kong's Web Payphone Network.

FamilyMeds.com (formerly Arrow Pharmacy) plans to roll the Netkey powered kiosk out to over 2,500 clinics, family practices and hospitals. "FamilyMeds.com selected Netkey because they wanted to work with the industry leader," commented Marvin Elbaum, Client Service Manager at Netkey. "The foundation of the pharmacy business is 100% reliability in every aspect of the business. Our Netkey Enterprise Solution is designed to be as reliable as dial tone and leverages all of our web content without changes to our back-end legacy systems."
