Hillsboro, OR - MTi, Inc. has hired Michael Cook as President/CEO to lead the
24-year-old switching display and interactive merchandising company. With Cook's appointment, current President/CEO, Mo Wagner, will assume the role of Chairman.
Cook's primary goal will be to continue profitable growth in MTi's existing market segments, while leading development of business strategies for new and emerging opportunities. Additionally, Cook will apply his management expertise to increase productivity and streamline the company's operational infrastructure.
"MTi is a great company that has established a long standing market leadership position in interactive display solutions. I am excited to have the opportunity to build upon the foundation established by the company's Founders," says Cook. "My charter will be to lead the company to the next level of growth through the expansion of the products we provide and the markets we serve. We will leverage this growth through our current leadership position in switching and display technologies."
Cook contributes extensive leadership experience gained from manufacturing, systems and service environments in a broad range of technical industries. Past positions include Executive Vice President of Rittal Corporation (Springfield, OH) a world leader in electronic enclosures and packaging solutions, and General Manager with Landis & Gyr (Chicago, IL) a global provider of intelligent building systems. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Electronic Power Conditioning (Salem, OR).
As Chairman, Wagner will continue to steer the strategic direction of the company he helped found in 1977. Wagner retains co-ownership with partner Jerry Schwanke, MTi's former VP/General Manager. Schwanke retired from day-to-day administrative activity earlier this year.
"I am looking forward to a new beginning for MTi. Not only will Mike bring years of leadership experience, but also a new vitality and fresh outlook that can only lead to a stronger MTi," says Wagner. "As for myself, I will be involved in MTi's strategic development and customer service philosophy while taking more time off for all those things I have desired to do over the last 30 years."
A pioneer of interactive merchandising, MTi has been building electronic retail displays for more than two decades. MTi displays are featured in over 70 percent of the consumer electronic stores in the nation. In addition to mobile electronics and home theater displays, MTi offers an extensive array of interactive audio and video kiosks. More information is available on the company at
