BURNABY, BC, Oct. 4 /CNW/ - Hamed Shahbazi reports a Surfnet success at Comdex Miami. Info Touch premiered the Surfnet Web Phone at the show that ran from September 28 through September 30, 1999. The web phone was an immediate hit with attendees and media. Comdex Miami is a regional show focusing attention on the Latin American, as well as the Central and South American markets.
CNN en Espanol is featuring an Info Touch segment on its ``Adelentos'' program, beginning Tuesday, October 5, 1999. The segment featuring the Surfnet Web Phone and Info Touch kiosks appearing at the trade show runs throughout the day beginning at 1:30 am EDT with the last program airing at 5:30 pm.
The Discovery Channel, Espanol, also filmed the Info Touch kiosks at Comdex Miami '99. The Discovery crew was amazed by the functionality of the Surfnet web phone as well as the Video E-mail written and provided by Info Touch. The Discovery Channel, Espanol is broadcasting October 11, 13 and 15 1999, in various program segments throughout the day in the Latin United States, Central America, South America and Iberia.
Into Tomorrow with Dave Graveline is a syndicated consumer, electronics and technology show broadcast over the ABC Radio Network. An Info Touch interview was taped live and aired Sunday, October 3, 1999 from 2pm to 5pm EDT, over the ABC Network to 77 national affiliated radio stations, as well as the Armed Services Radio Network and Television Service. Local ABC affiliated stations can be located on the Into Tomorrow website at www.graveline.com; a simultaneous Internet broadcast was aired at the same time.
El Mercurio is the most prominent and influential Chilean business newspaper, based in Santiago, Chile. El Mercurio boasts a Monday to Friday daily circulation of approximately 100,000 readers and 500,000 on Sunday. An in-booth interview was conducted at Comdex Miami with extensive questions surrounding the web phone technology and the Surfnet image. An in-booth interview was filmed September 29, 1999 focusing on the web-enabled telephone and video e-mail and their applications in the Latin American market. The broadcast will air in the Latin United States and Costa Rica on Friday, October 8, 1999.
