Mosaic Software delivers Mobile Prepayment Facilities in Eastern Europe
* Retailing, Utilities and Government Bodies in Poland
first to benefit
London, 15th October - Mosaic Software, global Electronic
Funds Transfer (EFT) solutions vendor today announced that
Polfon, Polands newest Transaction Processor, has chosen
their Postilion solution to be at the heart of processing
mobile prepayment and utility bill payment in this fast
developing country.
Polfon is the recently formed transaction processing company
founded by Delaware based company Alpha Group Corp., LLC.
that has on-hand experience in developing and managing high-
tech projects in Poland. Polfon has chosen Postilion to
control and supply a database of Pre-Paid mobile phone
vouchers and on-line Pre-Paid TopUp to which Polish Mobile
operators will have access. Postilion will manage both cash
and card payments.
The business benefits for Polfon of choosing Postilion
include a fast return on investment, due to the rapid speed
to market as well as the flexibility to respond to new
market requirements in the future. Polfon aims to have over
15,000 terminals at a variety of retailing, utility and
Government body locations across Poland over the next 2-3
years. These terminals will facilitate mobile prepayment
top ups using cash or card as well as managing cash payments
for utility bills and other financial services in the
future.
Poland is the largest market for mobile phones in Eastern
Europe and is in fact 4th largest in Europe. With
approximately 70% of the population being un-banked or
holding merely simple savings accounts, the necessity for
such a system to replace the current manual voucher system
is high, with obvious benefits to the 3 network operators in
the country. The Polish mobile phone market is still in its
infancy, with between only 5-10% of the population currently
owning a mobile phone.
The time is perfect for such a service to be introduced.
Vouchers are currently the trusted method of mobile top-ups,
however as the penetration of phones increases the overhead
for the mobile operators will become untenable. E-top ups
are the only way forward, comments Max Ebenstein, President
of Polfon. Postilion from Mosaic Software was the most
obvious choice for us. Their experience in a breadth of
prepay payment methods is extensive and the fact that they
can deliver full settlement and reconciliation as part of
the package is a considerable cost saving for us. Their
flexibility in terms of speed of delivery also gives us
great confidence for some of our exciting implementation
plans in the future.
