Siemens appoints Girish Parmar to head up new R/3 LIVE Express consultancy practice

Siemens Business Services has appointed Girish Parmar as head of its new R/3
LIVE Express consultancy practice, formed to provide the UK SME sector with
a fixed-cost, fast-track SAP R/3 implementation service. Girish Parmar will
be responsible for developing R/3 LIVE Express as a parallel business to
Siemens Business Services existing successful R/3 LIVE implementation
practice, and positioning Siemens as the leading SAP R/3 implementation
partner for the UK SME sector.

Commenting on his appointment, Girish Parmar said: "More and more UK
companies are keen to benefit from successful ERP implementations, but until
now SAP R/3 has mainly been seen as a solution for larger organisations.
We've set up R/3 LIVE Express to make R/3 accessible to the SME sector, and
with issues such as the Year 2000 and the euro looming large, we believe our
fast-track implementation service will be extremely attractive to the UK SME
community."

Girish Parmar brings considerable R/3, applications, change management and
business process re-engineering experience to the new Siemens R/3 LIVE
Express business. He was previously a Senior Project Manager for the
company's R/3 LIVE consultancy practice, where he was responsible for a
20-strong team which completed the successful implementation of a major 500
user, multi-site, multi-national SAP R/3 implementation for Rothmans. He
joined Siemens two years ago after five years with Ernst & Young, and two
years as a consultant on a major IMF-sponsored World Bank project for the
Ukraine Ministry of Finance.

At Ernst & Young, Girish Parmar worked on major systems and consultancy
projects. Earlier in his career he worked for Morgan Grampian and Dun and
Bradstreet, and qualified as a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
(CIMA) accountant in 1984.
