SWECOIN DEVELOPS MACINTOSH DRIVER
MIDDLETOWN, RI � November 15, 2001 � Swecoin, the world leader in direct thermal kiosk printers, today announced the availability of a native Macintosh driver. The driver supports USB printers in Swecoin�s product line, including the TTP1030 and the USB version of TTP7000 printers. It will soon also be available for the USB version of TTP8200, Swecoin�s new 8.5� wide thermal kiosk printer.
Designed as an API interface, the Mac driver includes a utility which permits the application developer to modify printer settings. The driver includes methods for retrieving status information from the printer, for example, paper low, paper out, and various other printer conditions. This permits networked kiosk administrators to monitor printer status remotely, minimizing down time and improving productivity. The Mac driver automatically scales data in the selected window to fit the appropriate page size.
�The Macintosh driver completes Swecoin�s range of native printer drivers,� said Jon Poignant, President of Swecoin US and Chairman of Swecoin AB. �Now Swecoin customers may utilize Swecoin kiosk printers under Windows, Unix, and Macintosh operating systems,� he continued.
