Seiko Instruments Introduces Thermal Printer Subassembly Featuring
Variable Paper Width and Programmable Paper Retractor for Kiosk Applications
TORRANCE, Calif. - Oct. 25, 2001 - Seiko Instruments USA Inc. Micro Printer Division announces the addition of the KPU-S347 to its KPU Series of thermal printer subassemblies. Featuring a paper presenter, programmable paper retractor and variable paper width capacity, the KPU-S347 is ideal for a wide variety of kiosk printer applications requiring exceptional versatility and performance.
Featuring an adjustable paper width of 2 inches to 3 inches, the new subassembly allows use of different paper stocks to meet the ever-changing requirements of the kiosk market. The unit also accommodates large paper rolls of up to 9 inches in diameter in either a horizontal or vertical paper position, reducing reloading time and maximizing efficiency. Other outstanding features include a programmable paper retractor designed to retrieve untaken receipts and tickets and dispose of them into an internal receptacle within a user-programmed time limit.

Delivering a high print speed of up to 200 mm/second and print resolution of
8 dots/mm, the new thermal printer subassembly delivers high-resolution printing with low power consumption (24-volts DC) in a cost-effective package, which includes printer mechanism, controller board, auto paper cutter and cabling. The KPU-S347 measures 132mm x 140mm (W x D) with options of 225mm or 235mm in height, depending on vertical or horizontal mounting. Available immediately, the KPU-S347 is priced at $600.
