Greenland Corporation Partners With MC Info to Offer 7x24 Network Monitoring
OCEANSIDE, Calif., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenland Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: GLCP) announced partnering with MC Info to offer 7x24
network monitoring through multi-year contract arrangements..
Dr. Louis T. Montulli, CEO of Greenland Corporation stated, "As a
continuation of our communication developments for the SmartCash ATM,
Greenland has entered into a partnering arrangement with MC Info to supply
networking services and remote network monitoring of Greenland's SmartCash ATM
financial kiosks. These monitoring services are critical. If you think that
the typical ATM machine that dispenses cash is mission critical, add to that a
next generation kiosk that also provides for check cashing, money orders,
phone cards, and pay day advances. Add to that a kiosk that offers internet
purchases, utility payments and other financial offerings and suddenly you
have a financial machine that will constantly be in use."
Joan McCaffrey, Vice President of MC Info stated "Greenland came to us
with a number of complex communication requirements that were not typical of
the slow, analog ATM machines. Furthermore, we had to design a network
infrastructure that could support explosive growth. A typical banking machine
cannot be upgraded easily. Changes have to physically be made to each
machine. It takes months if not years to reprogram function keys to offer
additional functionality. With Greenland's 'Bank in a Box,' function changes
can take place every few weeks on a site- by- site basis. Each store can
tailor their own offerings. The changes from Greenland can be made remotely
and automatically to thousands of machines overnight, thanks to MC Info's
network architecture."
Ms. McCaffrey further stated, "MC Info designed a high speed, digital
Frame Relay network with redundancy and upgradability. We evaluated several
networking products and chose Cisco Systems, the largest data communications
company in the world, to provide all of the routers throughout the coast to
coast network. We also helped Greenland negotiate carrier contracts which are
significantly less expensive than their previous ISDN line charges. This
allowed Greenland to create a competitive, fixed price communications packaged
for their customers."
MC Info's state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC) will offer
monitoring and support of the nationwide kiosks and Greenland's Oceanside and
Hermosa Beach call centers on a 7 x 24 basis. This Frame Relay network is one
of the largest in Southern California. MC Info has provided networking
services and design to thousands of Southern California companies for the past
15 years.
Greenland Corporation is a manufacturing and software/systems development
corporation in the financial services industry. The Company is currently
deploying an automated payroll/check-cashing machine with full ATM
functionality, and money order dispensing services. Because these "Bank in a
Box" machines are software based, Greenland will roll out payday advances as
an upgrade over their high speed network in the future.
