News Release

First Wave Releases Kiosk Communicator 2.4.

Scottsdale, Ariz. January 17, 2000. -- First Wave, Inc., a leading Apple developer of interactive kiosk solutions, today announced the availability of Kiosk Communicator 2.4, the latest version of their innovative kiosk development software package.

This updated version of Kiosk Communicator adds several exciting new features that developers can immediately begin taking advantage of on new or existing kiosk deployments.

One of the new features in the software allows for precise scheduling and sequencing of graphics seen while the kiosk is not in use. This allows fee-based advertising to be scheduled for display on an hourly basis throughout the day.

Another feature designed specifically for transactional kiosks provides for the encryption of credit card numbers. This allows kiosk orders to be securely transmitted over the Internet directly to the fulfillment center for processing.

The update can be downloaded at no charge by registered Kiosk Communicator users from http://www.first-wave.com/communicator.

Kiosk Communicator is used to develop and deploy interactive multimedia displays, dynamic signs, kiosks, directories, product displays, gift registries, purchase advisors and product catalogs.

It is not an authoring environment like Authorware or Director. It is not a programming language or development environment like C++ or CodeWarrior. Nor is it a media creation tool like Adobe Photoshop or Premiere.

Rather, it is an application program that interprets and delivers media such as digital movies, stills, music, voice, and text. It accepts input from touchscreen keyboards, credit cards, and bar code scanners, and performs calculations.
